CAREER CENTER

We have worked with over a thousand students in different schools from grade 5 to 12 to provide one-on-one career counseling. 
In Punjab, students have to decide their subjects in eleventh grade. Their choices are 'Medical', Non-Medical (engineering), (Commerce), or Arts (Humanities). Once they select one 'stream', it is very hard to go back and their college as well as career depends on this selection.
However, we found in our surveys and career counseling that about 75% of the students did not have a career or life goal. Out of the 25% who had a goal, 80% did not know what exact steps they need to take to achieve their goals. 
We recognized that the schools usually don't have a career center or similar service. 
Hence, we partnered with Guru Harkrishan School (Nangal-Ghoman) in Gurdaspur District of Punjab. Our career center is not only open to public, but it also provides free counseling to students. 
We hope to continue this project and start more Career Centers in Punjab so that all students can have information about different career and college options.
