Today we continued our work at Guru Harkrishan School. We had the chance to explore the village Chone as well as work with the students in the school.

Pahulmeet and Mauricio started day 2 of the English bootcamp. They went over the present tense, and then had the students write and speak about their daily routines to practice the present tense. Embedded in this workshop was the objective to teach the importance of planning and being productive.

Bhavkaran, Dilpreet and Harkiren continued their discussions on health. They held a brief workshop on addiction with the 8-10th graders. The focus of their discussion was to 1) describe what addiction is and 2) emphasize that addiction is a disease that affects your brain, not a choice made by a person.

The goal was to create a decriminalized and destigmatized understanding of addiction designed to help an addicted person rather than shamefully cast them aside. In both workshops, students were very engaged and discussed in pair and groups about the respective issues.

When school ended, we went to the city, Batala, to have lunch.

After filling up on food, we went back home and prepared for the next day
